Renaissance College of Commerce and Management is a renowned name in the education industry. For last 13 years, the institute has been serving quality education emphasising on the overall development of students.

In the academic session 2019-20, a total of 2500 students registered with the institute in different streams.

The institute has always believed in the system of parallel education and in lieu of that, the institute conducts various sports and cultural events and activities on a regular basis. But even with these activities going on all year round, the institute doesn’t lose focus on the academic performance of its students. This can be very well observed in the DAVV results. This year three of our students namely Preksha Jain, Khushi Agarwal and Disha Jain, were amongst the top 10 meritorious students of the University. Apart from these rankers, we have a long list of students who cleared the DAVV exams with distinction and were felicitated in the college.

But as they say, books give you knowledge, practical exposure gives you space to implement that knowledge. At Renaissance, students get a lot of opportunities not only to implement this knowledge, but also to develop themselves. These opportunities come in the form of stream activities, wherein students of a stream indulge in a monthly activity along with their stream incharges. These activities are designed keeping in mind the qualities and capabilities of students of each stream. Few of the path breaking activities were Ad Mad Show, Tech Quiz, Brand Quiz, Adobe Training, Personality Trait workshop, session by RJ Tathagat etc.

The institute stepped in this academic session with the Induction Program on August 1 and August 2. Our founder Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Swapnil Kothari presided the program and indulged in interaction with the new batch.

The next event that followed was friendship day celebration. Because we at Renaissance believe that friendship is an important virtue and being able to make good friends, is the first step in the success journey. During this celebration, students wrote messages for their friends.

Students always enjoy being in conversation with their beloved Chairman Sir, Mr Swapnil Kothari. His words not only motivate them, but they also develop a bond with sir. To build this relationship between the students and Sir, Samvaad was organized on August 21. It was an event of interaction and conversation.

Renaissance has always believed in a strong student teacher relationship. And the existence of this relationship is very much seen in our Teachers’ Day celebrations every year. This year also, our team of creative students made cards for all their directors and teachers. And a group dance as well as a group song was also dedicated to the teachers by our students.

A vibrant fresher’s party is all that a new batch needs, in order to begin their college life with full zeal and enthusiasm. Renaissance saw its freshers’ draped in red at the fresher’s party, ‘Scintilla’on September 25.  This party was a mega event where students danced and showcased their talents to earn various titles.

Keeping in mind, the present generation’s love towards dancing, Garba night is also organized every year, where not just students, but teachers also participate with same zeal and energy.

This year, Renaissance group set up a stage in the Indore Marathon, to motivate the runners. Our students danced to keep the energies of the participants high. Few of our students also participated in the marathon.

And as we always say Renaissance has a vibrant team of teachers, who are active both academically and culturally. Apart from being engaged in all the events of the college, this year our teachers participated in various running categories of the marathon and successfully completed them.  Few of the academic achievements of our teachers were, successful completion of Ph. D. by Dr Leena Joshi, Qualification of National Eligibility Test by Prof Harsha Dudhoria Surana, Prof Urvashi Munjar and Prof Hitesh Kukreja.

Moving ahead, Renaissance believes that talent pursued in the right direction creates history. Based on this philosophy, the institute has been continuously guiding and preparing students to master their talents and increase their potentials. We focus on making them ready to compete at the national level. We make them stand different in the crowd, help them accomplish higher and make a landmark. Thus, our students have been delivering exceptional performance year after year in the renowned ‘Youth Festival’ which is a large scale series of events held for the country’s youth. Through this event, our students interact with various students of different flairs and get exposure of the real world. Indeed, they make place for themselves acclaiming various positions and prizes. Our students bagged 1st position in 4 major events namely Mimicry, Western group song, Indian Solo Instrumental and Western Solo Instrumental which is a very proud moment for us. We acquired 2nd place in Mime and Solo Dance also. Our student teams of Indian Instrumental Solo, Western Group Song and Mimicry qualified for the State Level Competitions held in Rewa. Along with this, our student team of Indian Solo Instrumental qualified for Inter Zonal Competitions held in Gwalior.

Not just extra-curricular activities, the institute has a remarkable record in sports as well. One of our student Nikita Singh Chauhan won gold medal in athletics at the state level and the college. Table Tennis team of boys was the Inter College Champion of 2019-20.

Donating a smile is much above than donating materials. Students at Renaissance are taught to do this under the umbrella of National Service Scheme (NSS) headed by Dr. Priti Sudarshan. 105  students became a part of NSS in the year 19-20 and have actively participated in a lot of activities. The students watched the live screening of Fit India Movement on the occasion of National Sports Day on 29th August. The students indulged in Swachta Pakhwada, wherein they visited Arunab School, a centre for autistic children, and helped in campus cleaning , path making and plantation. The students took an oath on the occasion of Sadbhavna Divas on Aug 20 and participated in a marathon, organised to mark the event.

The institute has 12 active clubs to nurture the talents and give direction to the passion of the students. The Demonix club of dance and the Mozart club of music organised a workshop on basics of robotics and basics of ragas respectively. The Schwarzenegger club of nutrition and fitness went for a trek at Ralamandal and gave its students training in Zumba. The club also organized a workshop on right nutrition and its benefits. The Muskan Club of philanthropy organised a blood donation camp and collected nearly 100 units of blood from within the campus.

Renaissance has its students divided in four different houses namely, Akash, Jal, Prithvi and Vayu. And to keep the spirit of these houses alive, Scaffold is organised, which is a monthly activity of interhouse sports and cultural competitions. The first Scaffold comprising of Box Cricket and Card Making competition was organised on Aug 31. The second Scaffold was organised on October 22 and comprised of Volleyball and solo and duet dance competitions.

This year the grand and biggest Management Fest of Central India ‘Indradhanush’ was organized from 5th to 7th December. Ambassadors of Renaissance is an event for the first year students of our college. In this event, around 100 students are selected for classes and training by Swapnil Sir and other guest lecturers. During these training sessions, the students are required to perform certain tasks, and based on the performance in these tasks, students are eliminated. On the final day out of 50 students, few get selected for aDubai trip and few get selected for a Mumbai trip, sponsored and organized by the college. Last year, 8 students won a Dubai tripand were accompanied by Prof. Manvi Sood on their trip in October. Also, 9 students won a Mumbai tripand were accompanied by Dr. Nidhi Sethi on their tripin the month of October. This year, Ambassadors will be organized in the month of April, just after the exams of the students.

This year was an amalgamation of legacy and fruitful experiments. Looking forward to a more vibrant and rewarding session of 2020-21.
